“The situation right now, as of Monday morning, is that no other producers have followed AK Steel with price increases of their own,” said another Midwest service center buyer.

Reflecting this and other input from market participants, the Platts HRC assessment climbed Monday to a midpoint of $820/st ex-works Indiana, trading within a range of $810-$830/st ex-works.
